Rohan Online : Appealing to the Gamer - An Interview with NHN USA's Philip YunDec 23, 2008 03:56:18 PM News Item: 7410
Gamers are at the heart of everything we do at Ten Ton Hammer and
they’re actually the individuals that every MMORPG company is
trying to win over. Recently, NHN USA - North American publisher of F2P
games like Rohan: Blood Feud, Gunz and Luminary:
Rise of the Goonzu - showed their dedication to the
gaming community by re-envisioning their overview portal ijji.com,
making it more pleasingto the “hardcore” gaming
crowd. On top of that, NHN USA in recent times appointed a new CEO, Philip
Yun, to head their gaming enterprise in the North American market. The
Ten Ton Hammer team caught up with Philip and asked him about his
gaming past, where he hopes to take NHN USA, and what sort of impact
gamers will see from the “new look” of NHN.
Ten
Ton Hammer: For most companies, the CEO acts as a driving force behind
the direction of his or her team members. Where will you be pushing the
company? What can gamers anticipateto see from the future of NHN USA?
Philip: As I point outed, I think the future of online games
lies in the interactions that gamers have with each other. That
philosophy is at the core of how I drive the company, both externally
and internally. I know a lot of citizens say the same thing, but we are
actually about building a sense of community around ijji.com and our
games. So, to answer your question, we just re-commenceed our website to
have a more ‘hardcore’ feel to reflect the games we
offer and the
community that plays them. We also have a big line up of new games
coming in 2009 – including Huxley, the
Unreal Engine 3-based
MMORPGFPS. You can also anticipateto see even better service, which includes
more events to engage gamers.

Rohan Online : Ten Ton Hammer's Rohan: Blood Feud ReviewNov 24, 2008 07:58:03 PM News Item: 6666
Great Start and, Well, a
Great Start
Danny "Ralsu" Gourley found little to complain about for the first 20
levels of Rohan: Blood Feud. But the more he drank
from the Rohan bottle
of fun, the closer he got to the backwash at the bottom. In his review,
Ralsu tells Ten Ton Hammer readers if the game isworthy ofsticking out
until the end:
The first 20 levels of the game are very solid.
Engaging
storylines, varied locales, and fun gameplay features make the game one
of the best around, F2P or otherwise. By the end of the 20s, and
definitely in the thirties, leveling begins to feel a bit like stirring
molasses.

Rohan Online : LOTRO Mines of Moria Lothlorien Preview VideoNov 18, 2008 10:40:58 PM News Item: 6495
If
there's anything more frightening than a Balrog, it's a crazy Elven
woman that can see into the future and is several hundred years old. Galadriel
may be the most beautiful creature this side of Rohan, but she gives
this Ten Ton Hammer teamer the creeps. That aside, the Ten Ton Hammer
team has received a video giving a short preview of Lothlorien and
some of the more iconic elements of that part of Middle-earth. If you
can't wait to see it for yourself in the in recent times released Lord of the Rings Online expansion,
look into the video right here at Ten Ton Hammer!

By now, we all should know quite a bit about Lord of the Rings Online's newest expansion, Mines of Moria, slated for release later this year. We know about the two new classes and the new area to explore, but what about the future after Moria? This has only been touched-on previously, but in two recent conversations with Executive Producer Jeffrey Steefel, we get word of Turbine's plans with the franchise.
First, Steefel point outs the fact that they're aiming to release another expansion this time next year, and that there will be several new books released between now and then. While this has been discussed before, he point outs the act that these books will all take place in and around Lothlorien. Does this mean we may see the next expansion spotlighting on Rohan? Oh, wouldn't that be amazing.Continue reading LotRO's Jeffrey Steefel looks beyond Mines of Moria Comments

Rohan Online : One Shots: A case of schadenfreudeAug 13, 2008 02:00:00 PM News Item: 4500
Filed under: Fantasy, Screenshots, Lord of the Rings Online, One Shots
Normally right about now, we'd open with something fascinating or vaguely witty related to this screenshot. However, this meticulous screenshot has us entirely too busy snickering, and has otherwise left us at a loss. As if the above Lord of the Rings Online screenshot sent in by One Shots regular Finudir wasn't enough to get us started, the description pretty much sealed the deal. Finudir writes:
Arcticwulf was late in arriving at the scheduled time outlined by his Captain. Never lacking in a wicked sense of humour, Captain Finudir of Gondor decided to apply an ancient punishment he had once witnessed in Rohan. Wulf had to remain seated until the candles were completely burnt out. Needless to say, no one wanted to bunk with him that night, and the Fellowship splurged to get him his own room at the Prancing Pony Inn.
We hereby promise to not be late to any of Finudir's parties. Ever. (Of course, never having been invited, we figure we're safe!) Do you have a screenshot of... unorthodox methods of getting your group battle-ready and in-line? Or perhaps any good screenshot that will make us laugh? If so, send those screens our way to oneshots AT massively.com. Sure, they're fun on guild forums, but it's even more fun when the rest of the community gets to share in the laugh! Don't forget to tell us what's going on in the screenshot, too. %Gallery-9798% Comments
