The Town Crier gives us some tidbits on the Valentine's event and the scheduled maintenance for the forums this week. Dungeons And Dragons Online : Mark Jacobs elaborates on Call to Arms and Warhammer's futureJan 30, 2009 10:30:00 AM News Item: 8189
Filed under: Fantasy, Expansions, Warhammer Online, News items Warhammer Online GM, Mark Jacobs, paid a visit to the Warhammer Vault message boards to elaborate on the new Call to Arms live expansion and future incoming changes. While he believes this live expansion is one of the largest subscription-based substence upgrades/addons done by any MMORPG developer, he wants to assure everyone that this is only a part of their development plans for the next several months of WAR.
The first part of his letter deals with the Call to Arms expansion and hits on topics such as the new careers, the live events, and the Tomb Kings themed RvR dungeon. The second part talks about some of the major game improvements fans can anticipateto see over this expansion arc, including: bug fixes, better fortress performance, RvR changes and improvements (e.g., keep upgrades, zone domination system, additional rewards, etc.), career balancing, and increased polish (e.g., armour and mount diversity, mail system improvements, enhanced guild rewards, etc.). All of these latter improvements will be coming in the 1.2 patch, which should hit the public test worldin early February. While not giving us facts on the substence or a timeframe, Mark stated that even more game improvements will be coming in a 1.3 patch.
It seems many gamers were expecting specific facts about these upcoming changes. Mark responded by saying he is unwilling to post official patch notes until they have been thoroughly tested on the public test server. You can keep up with Mark's comments on this subject in the Warhammer Alliancedeveloperpost tracker.Mark Jacobs elaborates on Call to Arms and Warhammer's future Fri, 30 Jan 2009 10:30:00 EST. Dungeons And Dragons Online : Mark Jacobs talks about WAR: A Call To ArmsJan 29, 2009 04:55:40 PM News Item: 8111
Well earlier today Mythic unveiled the surprise that they'd been heading up to these past few weeks and it was as enormous as they made us believe it was. Now, Mark Jacobs steps in to talk a little about what they're working on over the next few months regarding A Call to Arms.
First, as for the Live Expansion pack, we have always believed in giving our gamers a lot of subscription-based substence for the game. This "Call to Arms" expansion arc represents a large amount of substence that will be spread out over a few months. When you factor in all the substence that will be added as part of this arc, it certainly makes it one of the largest subscription-based substence upgrades/addons done by any MMORPG developer. CtA alone is pretty cool but it does not, in any way, represent everything that we are working on (or have been working on).
He also talks about live events, the new classes, and the Tomb Kings dungeon and you can read all about it over at the WAR Herald!read more Comments
