Aion Game Overview
Aion player characters begin their journey by choosing one of four base professions – Warrior, Scout, Priest and Mage. This initial tier of development determines everything strength, to combat prowess, to magical abilities which ultimately shapes the players actions throughout the game. Upper level characters can choose advanced classes, bringing the total number of character types available to 8.
While a players initial choice of character class will largely depend on each player’s personal style, the ability to develop a character through the advanced class system ensures that they have all the tools they need to create a character that is unique to them.
Character Class
- Warrior
The Aion Warrior is Bold, brave and possesses tremendous physical prowess. They excel in close quarter melee combat.
Warriors can specialise as Gladiators, who concentrate on dealing damage through brute force, or Templars, who combine fierce fighting with defensive chants and techniques.
- Scout
Scout's combine great agility with swift attacks. The scout is a bit tricky to play but the rewards are great and offer the greatest variety in play style of all the basic classes.
Scouts that specialise in ranged combat will develop naturally into Rangers which is an advanced class equall in the use of blades and traps. Scouts may also become assissins if the player chooses.
- Mage
Mages are weak in physical combat but have the ability to launch devastating, powerful magic attacks. Mages must learn to keep distance from the enemy where they are at thier best.
A Mages mastery over the elements of water, air, earth and fire increase as they advance and their choice of advanced class determines how that mastery will manifest. Sorcerers channel elemental power into fearsome magical bolts and missiles while Spiritmasters can summon and control elemental spirits.
- The Priest
The Spiritual warriors of Aion. Priests can heal and provide self-protection spells to excel in melee combat, they can also launch powerful ranged magic attacks as well making them not only useful support characters but also powerful combatants in their own right.
Priests that specialise in healing and protecting will naturally progress to the advanced class of Cleric they can become Chanters which is a pious warrior that boasts both healing and ability boosting powers.
